B2S Program Volunteer

Volunteers help ensure programs run smoothly by supporting program and kitchen staff, maintaining shared spaces, and assisting with daily logistics. While much of this work happens in the background, it is essential to the success of each program and the well-being of our community. This role is hands-on, service-oriented, and requires flexibility, teamwork, and a willingness to step in wherever help is needed. Many responsibilities take place in shared living and kitchen spaces, and volunteers should be prepared for long, active days. Volunteers are responsible for organizing their own travel to and from the program. All meals, lodging, and accommodations will be provided by Base2Summit. You are given a $100 gas gift card to recoup some of your driving costs.

Volunteer tasks and responsibilities:

  • Assist with meal preparation, kitchen cleanup, and dishes throughout the program (yes — lots of dishes).
  • Help maintain clean and welcoming common areas, including kitchen, outdoor areas, and shared living spaces (wiping surfaces, replenishing supplies, and removing trash as needed).
  • Support transportation support, including program activities (when needed), grocery stores, or other program-related needs. This means you must have your own car for the program week.
  • Assist with general errands as directed by lead staff.
  • Be present and engaged for the full duration of the program, supporting staff and participants as needs arise.
  • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for young adults impacted by cancer.
